Mark was born at 3-3:30 AM on Thursday, February 22, 1951, at the Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield, KS, to Sarah Mae (Bryan) Byard and S. M. Byard. Weight at birth was 5 lbs, 12 oz. Mark was one month premature.
Mark grew up in Moline, Elk County, KS, and attended Moline Elementary and High Schools. The High School burned in the summer of 1969, just months after his graduation. This was a coincidence!!!
Mark married Catherine Elise Cain on June 3, 1972, in a ceremony at the First Methodist Church in Moline, KS.
Mark has no middle name ... only the initial “E”.
